I’m not a strict traditionalist when it comes to folk art. To me, this genre includes artists and jewelers who become known as “the” crafter in a particular region. Georg Jensen is one of those artisans.
Jensen founded his own company in 1904 and was a pioneer silversmith and designer who lived between two realms: Art Nouveau and mod. He became known for fine Danish craftsmanship and a brand in his own right. Pieces are hard to find, often numbered, and highly desirable.
